Summary
- I have been a substantive Consultant Ophthalmologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (the largest teaching hospital in Europe) and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds since 2022.
- My areas of expertise include: Cataract, Glaucoma, Emergency Ophthalmology and Ocular Trauma.
- I have performed over 2000 cataract procedures, performing approximately 800 cataract surgeries per year as well as approximately 200 Glaucoma surgeries per year. In addition I'm part of the On Call rota at Leeds NHS Trust where I see all types of Ophthalmic pathology including Emergency Ophthalmology and Ocular Trauma.
- I am up to date with current developments in medico-legal practice and have attended courses organised by Bond Solon, the Expert Witness Institute and MediLaw.
- I have received 9 academic prizes including the Royal Society of Medicine Ophthalmology Prize and the Ethicon Foundation Grant.
- I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the European Glaucoma Society and UK/Eire Glaucoma Society.
