Since graduating I have worked in a wide range of sectors within optometry. Commencing my pre-registration period with Boots Opticians I completed registration at an independent practice. I then came the Lead Optometrist involved in enhance services such as orthokeratology, myopia control, Minor Eye Conditions Services (MECS), glaucoma refinement and ocular hypertension monitoring.

I then worked at a private highly reputed ophthalmology provider and have since developed extensive clinical knowledge surrounding cataract surgery and laser vision correction, providing pre- and post-operative care, managing complications, and dealing with complex cataract cases, often requiring vitreo-retinal management. Working alongside a wide range of surgeons with different sub-specialties in ophthalmology has helped broaden my knowledge. I have also practiced in a range of environments across the country as a Locum Optometrist undertaking routine and general eye care services allowing me a broad experience of optometric practice.

I currently work part time in private ophthalmology clinics managing cataract patients, YAG laser treatment clinics and recently undertook a community role working at an independent practice. I am experienced in routine and enhanced eye care, contact lens fitting and aftercare, MECS and Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) interpretation (trained by Heidelberg Engineering). I have specialised in medical retina clinics and am proficient at diagnosis, management and treatment of patients having worked in a one stop service both privately, and in the NHS. I am a committee member at the Doncaster & Bassetlaw LOC and am Treasurer of the Rotherham and Barnsley LOC. I have obtained Professional Certificates in Medical Retina and Low Vision and will shortly complete my Independent Prescribing course. I hold a Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Optometry, obtained from Ulster University in 2021. I have also completed the WOPEC accredited courses in Cataract, Glaucoma Refinement and MECS.

I am a Bond Solon trained Expert Witness with a keen interest in medico-legal cases.
