Prof. Charles Claoué

MA (Cantab), MD, DO, FRCS (Eng), FRCOphth, FEBO.

Professor Claoué is a Bond Solon and Professional Solutions trained Expert Witness, with over ten years’ experience. He is a Member of The Academy of Experts, the Expert Witness Institute and the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. After graduating in medicine from the University of Cambridge, he trained as an ophthalmologist at Southampton Eye Hospital, the University of Bristol and Bristol Eye Hospital, St. Thomas’ Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, and Moorfields Eye Hospital where he underwent fellowship training. Professor Claoué is currently a Council Member of The Academy of Experts.

Professor Claoué has been a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon since 1995 and has wide experience. He has published over 100 academic papers and lectured on 5 continents. He Consults in Harley Street and Brentwood, and occasionally does domiciliary examinations on request. In addition to being a native English speaker, he also speaks French and Spanish. Professor Claoué has been a Council Member of United Kingdom & Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (UKISCRS) and was awarded the Silver Pin medal for his services on Council, and also the British Society of Refractive Surgery (BSRS). He is a member of European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS). Professor Claoué is a member of the élite International Intraocular Implant Club, and was one of the founders of the International Society of Bilateral Cataract Surgeons.
